Worship for Christmas eve 24/12/2020

An all-age Christmas Eve service jointly with other churches in & around Dundee.

Our service today is in partnership with many local congregations, and was prepared by Rev Graham Taylor.

Carol

Once in Royal David’s City, recorded in our church. Switch on the subtitles to view the words.

Welcome

Thank you for joining us. Rev Graham Taylor welcomes us to this time of worship.

Hymn

This Christmas time – the words will appear on the screen as the music plays.

The Christmas Story

We have missed seeing our primary schools performance their nativity plays in church this. So, hear the Christmas story in their own words from the children at Harvest at Kumulani Chapel recorded a few years ago.

Carol

We sing together “Midnight” which was written by Mark and Helen Johnson, the founders of ‘Out of the Ark’. It is performed here by the Out of the Ark choir.

Christmas blessing from the Muppet Christmas Carol

by Rev Graham Taylor

Reflection and prayer

With the music of the carol Silent Night sung by the choir of St George’s Chapel, Windsor, we reflect on Candlelight as we pray.

Carol

We sing together “O Come all ye Faithful”, recorded for BBC Songs of Praise at Priory Barn, Hertfordshire.

Grace

We normally say the words of the Grace to each other. We say them now to whoever is with us, and to everyone we have thought about during this time of worship.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all, now and evermore. Amen.

Final carol

O little town of Bethlehem, the words appear on the screen as the carol plays.

Benediction
